In India, more than 12.4 million children don’t go to school. Most of these kids should be in elementary school, just starting to learn. If they don’t go to school, they might miss out on important chances to learn and work when they grow up. It’s a big problem because they’re falling behind very early in life.
Meet Harsh Kothari. He started a project called Har Hath Kalam, which means “Every Hand Should Have a Pen.” Harsh works hard to make sure that every child, no matter how poor, can go to school. If kids can’t go to school, he finds ways to bring school to them.
Watch his story below to learn more about the problems these kids face and how Harsh is helping to make things better.
Harsh Kothari finished college at Thapar Engineering College, Patiala. He started Har Hath Kalam because he really wants to help children have safe places where they can learn and grow. He believes in talking openly about feelings and behaviours and encourages everyone in the community to do the same.
