AMHI AMCHYA AROGYASATHI

35 Years of Grassroots Change

Amhi Amchya Arogyasathi (AAA) is more than an organization—it’s a mission to create real change. Founded by Dr. Satish Gogulwar and Mrs. Shubhada Deshmukh in 1984, AAA has been empowering rural communities in Gadchiroli and beyond.

What We Do:

  • Healthcare: Reduced infant mortality by 40% through home-based neonatal care.
  • Education: 10,000+ tribal children now access quality education.
  • Women Empowerment: 500+ self-help groups have mobilized ₹1.35 crore in loans, with a 96% repayment rate.
  • Livelihoods: Created 3.2 lakh person-days of work through MGNREGA in 120 villages.
  • Environment: 60 villages have become alcohol-free, and sustainable farming practices are thriving.

Why It Matters:

AAA’s work is about empowering communities to lead their own change. Whether it’s saving forests, ensuring healthcare, or creating opportunities, every step they take builds a stronger, more resilient India.

About Our Hero

Dr. Satish Gogulwar and Mrs. Shubhada Deshmukh, inspired by Gandhian and Vinoba Bhave’s philosophy, envisioned health as the wholeness of life—integrating livelihood, water, and women’s empowerment. In 1984, they transformed this vision into action by founding Amhi Amchya Arogyasathi. For over 35 years, this not-for-profit organization has empowered women, tribal communities, farmers, and marginalized groups through its community-driven approach, “Let’s Find Our Own Way.” By fostering self-reliance and addressing root causes of health challenges, it has become a model for sustainable, grassroots empowerment.
